I’ve noticed that a lot of the writers I know give themselves word goals for their writing sessions.  One of my writer friends doesn’t  use a quantity of words, but actual things as her goal, for instance, today her goal might be to move her characters out of the house and down to the barn where the next scene will take place.  Whatever the approach, there is always a goal in mind, and I wonder if this holds the writer to being more accountable for their output.  I’ve always just sat and written until I’ve stopped for the day, but maybe that’s not the best way.  I’m going to have to ponder this.

I didn’t get anything concrete done today.  I got caught up in a marathon of “The 80’s: The Decade That Made Us” and there went any hope of being productive.
